To begin, you need a sales tax id number because you sell taxable items.  Taxable merchandise is anything you lease or sell and it is touchable. Second, a business tax registration is required. A: Yes, you need to become a business to sell Art? The tax id you need is called a seller's permit. There is also a federal id and a state employer tax as well as a business tax registration tax id called a business license required for some coounties in texas. However, you definitely need the seller's permit and you need to register the  assumed business name "Pick A Sow Art Pieces," as a dba business name filing.



Thus, you first, select your business structure: Sole Proprietor, Partnership, LLC or Corporation. All businesses must be identified either with a federal tax ID or the ss# of the owner if sole proprietorship. All other business entities, such as LLC, Corp, Partnerships, need a federal tax ID number. In addition, if the business sells any merchandise whether wholesale or retail or if it leases equipment, it will need a sales tax ID number. 

Then, a sellers permit is required to buy your craft materials wholesale and sell retail  if you sell   Artist merchandise wholesale or retail.

If you are an employer, i.e., if you hire anyone to help you with   Artist or Art Items   making, you will need a federal employer Number and a State Employer Number.

Users of a trade name will need a fictitious business name filing.  For example, if you name your   Artist or Art Items   business "Van Gough Art Items," you will need to officially register that business name.

Finally, you have the option or incorporating or forming an LLC for your   Artist or Art Items   business.

Hello. We have a client whose company is located in St. Augustine FL. They have a Federal Tax ID (EIN) and now need to know how they go about getting a ST Tax ID for the purpose of reporting payroll.



How do we do this? We have opened an LLC business for a food truck in California. We reside in Oceanside CA and want to conduct business across various cities within San Diego.



We have our EIN ID number and business name has been verified and set up under California state plus our name is going through the Federal State for trademark registration. We understand we need different business licences for each city - is that correct or can we request a consolidated business licence to cover all cities?



Also do we need a tax certificate for each city, we understand some cities business licences are tax certificates - however this is where it gets really confusing in terms of tax certs we need for a food truck? any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

hay I just need my PAYE tax number . my name is naledi cheroapi  thanks I am just trying to figure out what all I need to have to operate as a caterer. I am registered in the state of Louisiana, but trying to start a catering business in Pensacola, Fl. Would be for events and private functions only. How much will it cost to get all of those liscenses for a catering business in nm So the LLC alone is $149? Plus a business license of $49 Plus a license to sell for $39 Plus an EIN for $29? Total of $286? I'm trying to obtain a peddling permit to sell rib dinners I'm using my name I thought of Catering by Knight #2 i want to know what licenses or permits do i need to have a home catering bussiness we are starting a catering business in Jasonville, In and need to know what we need to do to make it legal we have the llc aready. just don't know what else

Yes, i need more information regarding any licenses or permits for a hookah bar in Kent, ohio specifically portage county i want to own a hookah bar Do I need alcohol permit if I'm offering customers to Bring their own alcohol I stead of me serving alcohol? do i need a tobacco license, for hookah bar I am interested in opening a hookah bar, but I do not know the requirements for my city.



I LIVE IN RALEIGH NC why is it that filing for an EIN on your site cost money but it free via the IRS What do I need to do to obtain a permit for hookah license. Not to run a bar but to supply. Is there a separate license for lounge ?

how long does it take to get a tax id number just questions about a resale tax certificate i am dropshipper in nashville And do I still need a seller permit after getting an LLC?



I am waiting to receive my EIN. I am just looking for more info on state tax I'm just trying to find out exactly what I need because.



I'm going to the court house tomorrow to file for a business license. Just trying to get better informed first  selling retail online through dropshipping only already have EIN and registered DBA with GA tax center give me a moment please to read your earlier responses i am not from USA, in this case can i get a resale cirtificate I would run in from my home and provide goods to my customers via dropshipping.



I'm interested in sarting an online/dropshipping business I already have a federal EIN. i have my business registered as a sole prop. I just need To get this resale lisence so i can deal with legitimate dropshippers.

I've started a photography business, and need to know any and every license/certificate I would need in order to get started. I also want to know the benefits of what having a tax ID number are I just recently started doing photography.

Here is the tax ids you need for Artist Business Type in The City Of Topeka, KS.

IMPORTANT: Requirments below include Web based, Online, Websites, Home or eBay Businesses)

  If you will set up a corporation or form an LLC, you will not have to file a DBA (Doing Business As) unless your corproration or LLC name will be different that the busienss name you will trade under. If you will be a partnership as opposed to an LLC or sole owner, you will need a federal tax id number. In addition to a tax registration, you may need a business name registration.

    If you have not done so yet, register your internet domain name to sound like the business you are in.
    Unless you know how to build a website, hire a professional to build a functional website so you can sell online.
    A very difficult part of an online business is setting up a way to allow the visitors to select the products or services into a shopping cart.
    A great classic way of advertising are business cards. Get some nice ones that will impress your customers.
    It never hurts to get some advice from a business person with experience such as a business consultant.
