The first thing to decide is what Trucking business entity structure to select. There is a sole proprietor, a partnership or a corporation or LLC. If you are a Trucking sole proprietor/owner, you will need a business license (business tax registration occupational business license). If you also use a business name, "Junction City
TRUCKING LLC," to do business, you also need a DBA (Doing Business As) fictitious business name.
However, if you incorporate or form an LLC, you do not need to register your business name because the LLC name will be your business name.If you will sell any type of Trucking merchandise or item in small or large amounts, you will need a Tax ID (sales Tax License ). i will be transporting freight 48 states no sales I have a ein number under my trucking business will I need another one for lawn care ok. so I have a EIN number in OH. It is G&D Trucking. But I want to start a tow truck business in AZ.
But I want to be able to operate in the Phoenix area or can you go anywhere out there and tow with license well I am a sole proprietor on the trucking business. But I would like to file LLC.
