I am a farmer producing pork and poultry and will be selling directly to the public, restaurants, and traveling to sell products at farmers markets.We have a farm in upstate my. We like to know how to register farm for our own personal matter This is for our personal farmer, not for business.

Here is what you need to start your farming business.
1. Get a farm business location(s) (i.e., purchase, rent or lease) Complete farm planning process (production, marketing and financial plans)
2. Select and develop farm product and/or service mix
3. Establish farm legal structure (e.g., sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, cooperative)
4. Register farm business; obtain business certificate Obtain tax identification numbers for the farm business:
Seller's Permit to collect Sales Tax
Federal and State EIN for Employer’s Tax

Get farm business insurance (e.g., liability, property, workers’ compensation)
Get the financing (farm capitalization and operating); establish credit with key suppliers
Establish farm management team and job descriptions (e.g., family members and partners;
employees; lawyer, accountant, other consultant services) Open farm business bank account(s)
Organize a farm business office; obtain necessary supplies and equipment
Establish a farm bookkeeping and record keeping systems
Create farm policies (personnel, safety, visitor)
Find out how to distribute channels/markets for farm products
Print promotional and advertising material
