Hello, I closed an antique business with 2 situs on 12/31/18. I've rented a booth since 1/18 to sell collectibles as a hobby.

Do I still need a tax ID permit even though I'm in the red?

I closed all of my previous accounts and deactivated my id number. I have not file for a DBA either. I have a full-time job and am hard to reach during business hours. Will call on my day off. Thanks. i am opening a booth in an antique mall.

I have fed EIN which I think I can use in lieu of business license, but need the seller's permit. mall is in Chattanooga TNThe first thing to decide is what antique booth business entity structure to select. There is a sole proprietor, a partnership or a corporation or LLC. If you are a sole proprietor/owner, you will need a antique booth business license (business tax registration occupational business license).

If you also use a business name to do business, you also need a DBA (Doing Business As). However, if you incorporate or form an LLC, you do not need to register your business name because the LLC name will be your antique booth business name.If you will sell any type of merchandise or item in small or large amounts, you will need a Tax ID (sales Tax License ).

If decide to hire help, you will need a federal EIN and a state employer ID.
