    My friend and I started a cupcake business with a cottage license.  We need to get our EIN to open a business account.  The fictitious name and  all other licenses are in my friends name only right now.  In the near future we are planning on forming an LLC with both of us as equal partners.  My question is if we fill out the form for EIN can we list it as a partnership or should it be listed as sole owner beings all other documents are currently in her name alone.

    It does not matter and most likely you don't need an EIN.  What you need for a cupcake home bakery is a sales tax id and a business license as well as a dba filing.

    I would like to obtain a Tax ID for my softball team in order to set up a bank account for the team.  We will play in tournaments only and this is a men's tournament team.  Would like to know how I would do this and the cost of doing this as well? Thanks, Rick Clark

    It is called a federal tax id.  However, eventually, you will have to apply for a nonprofit association and apply for federal and state tax exemption as well.  You can form a non profit corporation here online and get a federal tax id as well.

    If your dad lets you, yes.  He will be responsible to pay sales tax, eventually.

    If the business sells any merchandise whether wholesale or retail or if it leases equipment, it will need a sales tax ID number. Furthermore, employers will need both a federal EIN, and a State EIN. Finally, if the business uses a trade name, the name must be registered with an assumed business name certificate also called a DBA doing business as. Note that since you have to select a business structure, if you select to be an LLC or corporation you will not need to file an assumed business name.

    Yes this is for texas.   You will need to get at least one tax id to sell on ebay from your home in Arlicngton TX.  Tarrant county may want you to get a Texas assumed business name as well if you have a business  name. Get anyone to work for you and you will need a federf
